One of her favorite hair looks
next to braids is beach waves.
In fact is has become quit her signature hairstyle.
Don’t think beach waves are only for long hair.
Even with shorter locks you can rock this style.
I am a big fan beach waves.
It is sexy, playful and not overly styled and polishes so it looks effortless.
Well let’s see how hair guru Jen Atkins creates this on her super star clients.
First decide your hair part.
If you like it on the right side, make it now on the left.
This way you will have lots of volume later and this is something you want.
Lots of volume is always what you should want.
Apply a volumizing mouse such as the OUAI soft mousse.
This mousse gives the hair volume and has a scent of Italian Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Magnolia and Blackberry.
It isn’t sticky or crunchy and the lightweight, oil-enhanced mousse leaves the hair bouncy and full of volume
Get about the size of walnut of mousse.
Start at the bottom and when you get to your roots, lightly massage the mousse into your roots.
This way you are even creating more volume.
Divide your hair in 4 parts.
The easiest is to divide this from ear to er, and from the crown down to your neck.
Clip each section with a hair clip.
Now that your hair is prepped, you can start styling.
Use a curling iron which has a thick wand like the Babyliss Pro Ceramic Dial A Heat Curling Tong.
It comes with different barrels.
It is ceramic so it protects the hair and distributes the heat evenly.
The thicker the barrel, the bigger your waves/curls.
The thinner and smaller your barrels, the tighter your curls become.
For long hair it is best to use a bigger barrel and for shorter hair a medium barrel will be the best choice.
After finishing with curling iron, use a texturing spray to ”set” the hair.
Spray light between the waves and massage the hair between your hands.
The Ouai texturing hair spray is perfect for this.
It is infused with a host of strengthening and hydrating properties and smell like all other Ouai products amazing.
The closer you get to the roots, the more you focus on the roots.
The roots are equal to volume.
Push the hair forward and up so you press volume into the hair.
Continue on the other side.
Once finished, use the volumizing hairspray all over to give you hair a really good hold.
For even more texture, apply a bit more mousse.
It is optional but recommended.
Hey nobody said being beautiful was easy darling !
Apply this the same way as before.
A bit in your hands and apply this to the ends of your hair.
Now spray a volumizer at only your roots
This gives you the ultimate root lift for voluminous beach hair.
Hang in there, we’re almost done.
For the finishing touch, use the diffuser of your blue dryer.
This really sets the beach waves and loosens them up.
Make sure you don’t set your blog dryer on full heat.
Just gently and softly press the diffuser against your hair.
Don’t forget the ends and really take time to work your crown.
When finished, use the blow dryer one more time with the cold setting.
You can also use a shining hair spray to give the hair some hint and prevent frizz.
Flip the hair to your preferred part and your done !
You are now rocking sexy beach waves Jen Atkins style.
Watch out Kardashinas, there’s a new b*tch in town !
